A Bit About Mr. Pirlet
I've been teaching for a decade at Aberdeen Central High School, the same high school I graduated from in 2002. While in high school I was active in drama, Student Senate, show choir, and Boy Scouts. I found my love for history, and the other social sciences, in the 7th grade. I could see that the history was jumping out of the pages (well not literally of course). As any of my former students can attest, I love teaching. I hope to continue my teaching career for many years. I also hope to spread the word about the awesome possibilities to be found in careers in any one of the social science fields.
This year I have the pleasure of assisting students in Honors Economics, Advanced Placement and Collegiate U.S. History and Regional American Indian Studies. It's awesome to see students catch fire for social sciences. I have to say, I feel sorry for students who aren't able to get any social studies lovin' (the opportunity to participate in a social science class).
I want students to enjoy class each day. I wish to create a classroom and school climate that emphasizes acceptance, enthusiasm and integrity.
